Van Morrison is probably, at this point in time, my biggest influence as a vocalist. When we were making our last album I had a vinyl copy of 'Veedon Fleece' in the vocal booth in front of me, in the dorky sense. I think there were candles around, which is really tacky, but hey, I needed to channel Van the Man! ↗

It's a classic album. If it ain't better than 'The Truth,' it's right there with it. I wouldn't say it if I ain't think so, 'cause 'The Truth' was my baby. That's the pure album. ↗

Even though we didn't actually record it as the Move I had already written a song called 'Dear Elaine,' which I subsequently put on the Boulders album. I thought at the time that was probably the best song I'd written. ↗

It's funny, when people talk about the 70s I can tell you the year of every album but when it comes to the later efforts I can't remember the exact years, it's funny isn't it? ↗

I use the music to vent, and a lot of the stuff that I am writing about or was writing about contained a lot of anger and anxiety, stress and depression, so that's how the album came out so dark. ↗

I began the process of recording myself seriously in the fall of 1999. If I could finish an album of my own music, I would. Five years later I am happy to say I have. ↗

When you work on an album for three and a half years, you're kind of ready for it to get out there. To have your songs reach people. ↗

I just realized how long it was since the last album, and where did the time go? You know? ↗

I made many studio albums and I think the danger of studio recording is that if you do not watch out, you come out with a perfectly sterile performance. ↗

I only do solo albums when songs are screaming at me to be let out of my mind. ↗
