I'm hoping to become a recording artist and make albums and go on tour. ↗

When we made that album with Gary Moore, I was still kind of searching for the right direction for myself. Although the music is quite good the direction was like a box of fireworks that caught light all at the same time. ↗

L.A. still ranks as one of my guilty pleasures, along with butter-pecan ice cream and Coldplay albums. ↗

J. Lo is also an homage to my fans. That's what fans call me on the streets, and I like it. So giving the album this title is my way of telling them that this is for them, in appreciation of their support. ↗

At the moment we're trying to keep what we've learnt. Because we learnt a terrific amount with 'Deep Purple In Rock,' it took six months to make that album: we think it paid off, really. I can honestly say that it's the first album we've been 100 percent satisfied with; it gave us a hell of a lot of confidence. ↗

If Frank and The Beach Boys got together and did a Super Session album, it would be a gas. ↗

In the '70s, you had to come up with an album every year whether you were ready or not. ↗

I've been here all the time; I could be putting out as many albums as Costello, y'know what I mean? ↗

A personal highlight was probably when we got a No. 1 in the U.K. and when the album went to No. 1 in America. The top four that week was us, Adele, Guns N' Roses and Bruce Springsteen. It was ridiculous seeing those names there. Being the first band from the U.K. and Ireland to go to America and debut at No. 1 is just unbelievable. ↗

I just kept it real and had the freedom to do what I want. It's not designed for any age group. It's not made for radio. There are no edits. The whole album contains explicit lyrics but that's because you need it. ↗
