L.A. is still such a fascinating place to me, so big and diverse. It's so spread out that you can go from Zuma to downtown and there's really like 10 different towns in between. ↗
We end the show with something that's never been on TV because it was too big for a sketch but we couldn't stretch it out to make a whole episode because it would have been too long, but we always thought it was really good. ↗
I don't think there is enough educational programming, but unfortunately, television is built around advertising and those shows don't get the big ratings. ↗
Things slow down, the ball seems a lot bigger and you feel like you have more time. Everything computes - you have options, but you always take the right one. ↗
The biggest challenge in my life is getting all these kids raised. I've helped with nieces, stepchildren and my own son, so the biggest challenge is making sure the kids are raised and finding enough quality time with them. ↗
Then I left that school and I went to Cerritos College, which was in southern California; they had one of the best big band programs in the country at the time. ↗
