I feel that good fantasy will always be in demand. I think children especially need literature that helps them escape from the real world, which is very scary to them right now. ↗
When I write for kids, I have to make sure they know what can't happen. They have to know it's a fantasy. But when I write for adults, they have to think it's real. Every detail has to be real or they won't buy it. ↗
A woman can be very beautiful and an ideal model and she will photograph incredibly well, but she'll appear in film and it won't work. What works is some fusion of physical beauty with some mental field or whatever you call it. I don't know. ↗
I don't think you ever think that you have made it but I did take a look at myself one day and think back to when I was a little girl and it was nice to know that I had at least made it this far. ↗
People are really emotionally affected by actors. And it's hard to know how to behave in a way that doesn't impose or withdraw. Because everybody wants your attention. Everywhere you go, you know? ↗
You can't but know that if you can capture the emotions of the audience as well as their minds, the play will work better, because it's a narrative art form. ↗
