I find myself thinking back to something I saw on the local news about a year ago. A teen football player had died in a car accident. The cameras showed all his friends after the funeral—these big hulking guys, all in tears, saying, “I loved him. We all loved him so much.” I started crying, too, and I wondered if these guys had told the football player they loved him while he was alive, or whether it was only with death that this strange word, love, could be used. I vowed then and there that I would never hesitate to speak up to the people I loved. They deserved to know they gave meaning to my life. They deserved to know I thought the world of them. ↗
How could those who wrote the Constitution possibly understand its meaning better than those who had the experience of observing and participating in its operation? It is one thing to rail against the evils of politically unaccountable judges enlarging constitutional rights beyond the ideas and purposes of their adopters; another to explain why morally sustainable claims of equality be held captive to the extraordinary obstacles of Article V or subject to the partial and incomplete understandings of 1789 or 1868. ↗
We want to hear the story first and let the meaning unfold, rather than to be present with expectations of a certain significance into which all behavior is then fitted. ↗
Well, it's true that I have been hurt in my life. Quite a bit. But it's also true that I have loved, and been loved. and that carries a weight of its own. A greater weight, in my opinion. It's like that pie chart we talked about earlier. in the end, I'll look back on my life and see that the greatest piece of it was love. The problems, the divorces, the sadness... those will be there too, but just smaller slivers, tiny pieces. ↗

Ever felt like you are more than flesh and bones and blood that decay back into cosmic dirt? You are. Your existence did not begin with your birth and it will not end with your death. Your soul lived before and will live on and on and on...so what you do now matters later. Choose wisely. ↗
Take a photograph, It'll be the last. Not a dollar or a crowd could ever keep me here. I don't have a past, I just have a chance. Not a family or lonely plea remains to say. (chorus) Rain rain go away, Come again another day. All the world is waiting for the sun. Is it you I want, Or just the notion of your heart to wrap around So I can find my way around. Safe to say from here, You're getting closer now. We are never sad 'cause we are not allowed to be. (chorus) x2 (x2) To lie here under you, Is all I could ever do. To lie here under you... Rain rain go away, Come again another day. All the world is waiting for the sun. Rain rain go away, Come again another day, All the world is waiting for the sun. All the world is wairing for the sun. All the world is waiting for the sun. ↗
When you aren't satisfied with what has already been done, make something better. That is the greatest responsibility and the true freedom of creativity. The freedom is in that it doesn't need to complain. ↗
