I sort of came out at the dawn of the Internet in the mid-90s and I think it helped break my career. I think I was one of the first artists to really benefit from the grassroots swell that can happen online. I don't know if I would have broken out without it. ↗
I've found the best way is to not be scared of the attention but to be grateful for it and open to it. It makes my days better rather than being annoyed that people want my attention. ↗
The combination of pictures and words together can be really effective, and I began to realise in my career that unless I wrote my own words, then my message was diluted. ↗
