George Kenney

This was successful and an attempt was then made to create a longer range attack aircraft by doing the same thing to a B-25 Mitchell medium bomber to operate as a "commerce destroyer". Kenney switched the bombers to attacking by night unless fighter escorts could be provided. He returned to the United States in June 1919.

The new weapons and tactics won perhaps his greatest victory the Battle of the Bismarck Sea in March 1943. Signal Corps in 1917 and served on the Western Front with the 91st Aero Squadron.
