From this point Hearst was just another employee subject to the directives of an outside manager. In 1934 after checking with Jewish leaders to make sure the visit would prove of benefit to Jews Hearst visited Berlin to interview Adolf Hitler. This home is now perhaps the "most expensive" private home in the U.

Hearst entered the publishing business in 1887 after taking control of The San Francisco Examiner from his father. He later expanded to magazines creating the largest newspaper and magazine business in the world. Acquiring more newspapers Hearst created a chain that numbered nearly 30 papers in major American cities at its peak.
