I would rather be known as 'Jim Kolbe, the trade expert in Congress who happens to be gay,' rather than 'Jim Kolbe, gay congressman from Arizona.'

(Bill Clinton had narrowly won the district in 1996 and George W. However he withdrew his endorsement in July 2008. He then moved to Tucson Arizona where he was a business executive.
