Malcolm was a firm believer in the value and importance of our heritage. He believed that we have valuable and distinct cultural traditions which need to be institutionalized so that they can be passed on to our heirs.

Betty Shabazz (May 28 1934 – June 23 1997) born Betty Dean Sanders and also known as Betty X was an American educator and civil rights advocate. Shabazz died three weeks later as a result of her injuries. She attended the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama where Betty Shabazz had her first encounters with racism.
