Paul Henderson

He chose to sign with the Red Wings as their junior teams were based in Hamilton which was closest to his home. The team returned home to massive crowds in Montreal and Toronto and Paul Henderson had become a national hero. Played at the height of the Cold War the series was viewed as a battle for both hockey supremacy and way of life.

He played in two NHL All-Star Games and was a member of the Memorial Cup winning Hamilton Red Wings team as a junior. He played in the 1974 Summit Series also against the Soviet Union. He played over 1000 games between the two major leagues scoring 376 goals and 758 points.
