I consider myself one of a very small handful of drivers in the world that are top drivers. The best one? I don't think anybody can say they're the best one because, from one week to the next, you can be on form or off form a little bit.

He later joked[citation needed] that he had booked an early flight home for halfway through the race as he predicted the car's new electronic gearbox would last only a few laps. The drivers found they got along well and from early in the pre-season formed a good working and personal relationship.
