Rubin was born in Cincinnati Ohio the son of a bread delivery man and union representative and grew up in the Avondale neighborhood[citation needed]. See also

During the 1980s he became a successful businessman. Jerry Rubin (July 14 1938 – November 28 1994) was an American social activist and anti-war leader during the 1960s and 1970s.
