In 1915 he devised the first corn-hog ratio charts indicating the probable course of markets. In 1914 Wallace married Ilo Browne and in 1926 with the help of a small inheritance that had been left to her he founded the highly successful Hi-Bred Corn Company which made him a wealthy man. Roosevelt who perhaps came by an interest in Asian religions through his mother Sara had also exchanged letters with Helena Roerich.

Henry Agard Wallace (October 7 1888 – November 18 1965) was the 33rd Vice President of the United States (1941–1945) the Secretary of Agriculture (1933–1940) and the Secretary of Commerce (1945–1946). In the 1948 presidential election Wallace was the nominee of the Progressive Party.
