Women, it is said, have a bad attitude toward sex. Women, it not said often enough, have a long-lived resentment against forced-sex and a longing for freedom.

I want to continue to help women. Like Dworkin their essential impulse when they see human beings living freely is to try and control or stop them – for their own good. The imperative at the heart of my writing – what must be done – comes directly from my life.

An anti-war activist and anarchist in the late 1960s Dworkin wrote 10 books on radical feminist theory and practice. Andrea Rita Dworkin (September 26 1946 – April 9 2005) was an American radical feminist and writer best known for her criticism of pornography which Andrea Dworkin argued was linked to rape and other forms of violence against women.
