Boredom or discontent is useful to me when I acknowledge it and see clearly my assumption that there's something else I would rather be doing. In this way boredom can act as an invitation to freedom by opening me to new options and thoughts. For example, if I can't change the activity, can I look at it more honestly?

He is survived by his immediate family: wife Gale Prather his son from a previous marriage Perry Scott Prather and their two sons John and Jordan. While he could be categorized as a New Age writer he drew on Christian language and themes and seemed comfortable conceiving of God in personal terms. Prather died on November 15 2010 in the hot tub of his Tucson Arizona home apparently of a heart attack.
