If you don't give a person trust, how can they be able to be someone you can trust and how can they learn to trust? If you don't give a person love, they will never love and be loved. You cant expect a seed to grow by its own. You will have to plant them, water them, give them light and take care of them. Then they will be able to take care of the others, and others will learn to take care of the society, and time passes by, life goes on.
