Peace is the fruit of love, a love that is also justice. But to grow in love requires work -- hard work. And it can bring pain because it implies loss -- loss of the certitudes, comforts, and hurts that shelter and define us.

There are high Schools named after him in Whitehorse Yukon; London Ontario; Scarborough Ontario; Collingwood Ontario; Richmond Hill Ontario; Welland Ontario and a to be constructed school in Milton Ontario. He also travels widely visiting other L'Arche communities encouraging projects for new communities and giving lectures and retreats. He stepped down from these responsibilities to spend more time counseling encouraging and accompanying people who come to live in L'Arche as assistants to those with disabilities.
