People have become less discriminating listeners, which is tragic, really. There's a lot of emperor's new clothes out there, whether they're female or male solo acts. That bothers me. It's hard to break through, and it's like climbing Mount Everest if you actually do.

The album's debut single "I Believe In Love" was initially not a success but was remixed by producer Jonathan Peters into a successful dance song. Among them was "Producer of the Year" (Cole was the second woman to ever be nominated in this category); Paula Cole did not win but Paula Cole did go on to win "Best New Artist" that same year.
