I went to a lot of theatre schools, got a lot of training, did a lot of repertory where you do a different play every night. I took a lot of voice, movement, and acting classes.

Combs has played nine different onscreen roles in the Star Trek universe. He attended Santa Maria's Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts and later developed his acting skills in the Professional Actor's Training Program at the University of Washington. Kevin Burkhoff; by 2006 this became a recurring role.
