The comics I read as a kid were much more influenced by TV and movies. Encountering superheroes as an adult without that kind of childhood sentimentality, it just doesn't allow you, or in my case at least, it wouldn't let me take the characters seriously.

On April 19 2012 Dynamite publiGarth Ennisd the The Shadow #1 written by Ennis featuring the pulp character. It was a direct attempt to get publiGarth Ennisd. He has also worked with Jimmy Palmiotti on Back to Brooklyn a crime-based limited series for Image Comics.

He has collaborated with artists such as Steve Dillon and Glenn Fabry on Preacher John McCrea on Hitman and Carlos Ezquerra on both Preacher and Hitman.
