In many ways, I've chosen to be plain, almost too plain, too self-effacing. Like, if I record a vocal and I don't like the way it sounds, I would have them turn it up and take the reverb off it to make it as plain as possible.

Folds has been married four times. "
Folds attended the University of Miami's Frost School of Music on a percussion scholarship but dropped out with one credit to go before graduating. This will be the first time the band has played together since 2008.

In addition to contributing music to the soundtracks of the animated films Over the Hedge and Hoodwinked! Folds produced Amanda Palmer's first solo album and has been a judge on the NBC a cappella singing contest The Sing-Off since 2009. After the group temporarily disbanded Folds performed as a solo artist and has toured all over the world.
