In the autumn of 2010 Cocker toured Europe promoting his studio album Hard Knocks. John Belushi joined him on stage doing his famous impersonation of Cocker's stage movements. The single made the Top Ten on the British charts remaining there for thirteen weeks and eventually reaching number one on 9 November 1968.

He was ranked #97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list. He is the recipient of several awards including a 1983 Grammy Award for his #1 hit "Up Where We Belong" a duet he performed with Jennifer Warnes.
