As far as the Jets go, I'm competing to play. It will be a heated competition between Kellen and me, and I'm excited about that; I will do it in a respectful way. I have the utmost respect for him because he's a great player. Whatever's best for team will be best for the team and the coaches will decide.

In a rematch of their regular season meeting with the Colts Sanchez performed well in the first half however the offense succumbed to the Colts' defense in the second half and the Jets gave up an 11 point lead losing 30–17. Sanchez suffered a jammed finger during the defeat however it was on his non-throwing hand.
