News released on the Third Man Records website on May 23 2012 stated that Beck would be releasing a new single entitled "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" / "Blue Randy" on the label in both digital and physical formats on May 28 2012 as well as in "an extremely limited run of 100 Tri Color 7-inches".
