For me, romance isn't an over-the-top act. It's someone offering to help and to support me. Or if that person thinks I'm making the wrong decision, he'll tell me. I want him to be honest, because being that honest takes a lot of guts.

The film is about a troubled young woman (played by Birch) who wakes up one day as a different person - someone who is stalked by creatures. After guest-starring appearances in The Outer Limits Promised Land and Touched by an Angel Birch took a break from acting. They and child labor representatives were on the set for the shooting of the scene.

Her breakthrough role came in 1999 with the Academy Award winning film American Beauty. She later played the lead role in Ghost World (2001) for which Thora Birch received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. She got her first role at the age of 6 in the short-lived sitcom Day By Day (1988).
