After her critically acclaimed stint on the show Sally Field returned to the role in 2003 and 2006. She went on to star as Sister Bertrille in The Flying Nun (1967–70). She also starred in the very short-lived 2002 series The Court.

Field is a two-time winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress for Norma Rae (1979) and Places in the Heart (1984).
